THE MOST POWERFUL FINANCIAL DECADE OF YOUR LIFE

I was recently reading something by Shane Parrish:

"We protect money because it's visible and throw away time because it's not. If you burn money, people call you crazy. If you burn time, they call you busy. We treat money as valuable because it's quantifiable and time as disposable because it's not."

And yes, of course, we value money.

But the part that struck me is time is the thing that actually creates the money.

The more time you have:

  • The more you can earn
  • The more you can invest
  • The more space your money has to grow

Time is the force multiplier.

And just because you can't see it in your bank account doesn't mean it doesn't have value.

As one of my mentors is constantly reminding me >>

(quote attributed to Andy Rooney)

I'm rebuilding my website right now (stay tuned, it's going to be so great!), and the very first line says

Not because you'll earn the most.

Or because you'll have it all figured out.

But because, simply, you have time.

And I don't believe we're saying it often enough and clearly enough to 20-somethings.

In part, you're meant to waste time and do dumb stuff in your 20s. And honestly? That's fine.

You should overcommit socially and professionally.
You should have the energy drink at 10pm.
You should break the heart or have the heart broken.
Wear the stilettos to the concert.
Try the job, start the business, write the manuscript.

But alongside that, one thing has to be happening:

You have to be investing.

Even a little.

Because you're losing time in the background, whether you notice it or not.

If I had to simplify this whole idea into one push, it would be this:

Don't wait to feel ready. Start while time is still working for you.

That's it.

  • Not when you make more
  • Not when you "learn how to invest"
  • Not when you're saving for a house or trying for a baby
  • Not when it feels easier

Now.

Because whatever is happening in your bank account, I can guarantee one thing, you're losing time.

And the earlier you start, the more work it does on your behalf.

My mission in 2026 is to show as many 20-somethings as possible that they are in the most powerful financial decade of their lives. JOIN THE MOVEMENT!

You don't need to be perfect.
You don't need to know everything.

You just need to start.
